Recently NBC came and did a story on the green features of our pizza making firetruck. I have to tell you that when I speak of our Solar powered TV and lights or our Solar hot water loop for the hand sinks . . .or running biodiesel as the fuel of choice . . and right down to eco products being used . . . these are the things that give me goosebumps. Building our new mobile pizza unit (mobilepizzaunit.com) has consumed me for the past 5 mos of my life. I am proud , tired and feeling guilty for not staying current on our Ning site. On the eve of Localmotion . . atthe moment it is localexhaustion! Preparing for this event has drawn all my energy down . . so I decided to take a nap this afternoon and just woke up 4 hours later! Earlier today, when I was visiting the local farms buying the local food products that will be featured on the pizzas at Localmotion, I was struck with the overwhelming feeling that we are on to somthing good here, something big. Its the middle of the night and I am supposed to be on vacation. Instead I have spent half the night compiling a list of web links to worthy social, environmental groups. . . I have been researching many of our green products and finding out who is walking the walk. Good mission statements are a starting point. For the past 6 days I have been sailing alone off the New England Coast trying to sort everything out that has happend . . and as much as I try to get away from Pizzetta . . .it is all I can think about . . . Two weeks ago my dad died of a unexpeced heart attack . . I closed the shop and expected it to just remain closed till I was done at home sorting out family stuff. WIth little help . . my staff opened and ran the shop untill I retuned home a week later and once I did return home I couldnt make it an hour with out crying or walking in to walls . . they sent me to bed or put up with my emotional mood swings . . .You guys are the very best . . you have kept pizzetta intact through the worst of time… Continue

Take 20 of the most amazing people and put them on an island . . .add some sand and sun . . a bit of food and whalaa a perfect day. Our first staff travel fund trip was a blast . . we at a fantastic meal at the spring house . .bad assed Zodiac ride around the whole island . . bananna boat rides . . beach time and drinks on the veranda at the spring house. What else could go wrong or right this week. Running out of propane in the middle of dinner wed night . . having the power wires pull off the building in a spray of spartks . . during dinner on Sat night . . running out of dough on sunday morning for late night . . . all I can say is my staff pulled through . . they are the greatest ever. Sometimes in the late afternoon they just say "go get sleep now" and I wake up a few hours later . . ready to go again. I have said it before . . that the staf… Continue

Today stated out with a customer asking to see me . . I braced myself for whatever had gone wrong . . too much cheese . . too long a wait .. . and then he expained that he had been dining in on our first friday night ever . with his family, and said the expericence was fantastic from the moment they walked in to the moment they left. It made my day . . it is why we are here.l Food to me has always been what brings people together In my childhood plaged by divorce wars and such . . the only time… Continue

Really . . . if you could have felt the energy in the dining room tonight . . so great I have the best staff in the world . . . . I miss them when they are not here Pizzetta is really just a composite of really groovy people held together with some sort of glue that I cannot really expain . . . but I love all of it. I figure it somthing like this . . We are here for a very short time and that time is now . . as best I can figure that is the only realty Pizzetta is all that I have learned . . experienced . .and longed for . . put in to physical form.
